The Loom

Running like a bullet through
The weight of what comes over you
Will start it
The color that runs through my blood
Would stain the earth quickly enough
To scar it

Wind that causes skin to fuzz
Will change the autumn tree because
It waits it
And when I come to find the door
Your hockey mouth will up the score
I let it

When I tell you to be still
From register my pockets fill
I hit it
The quiet siren of our need
Was louder than the petty deed
We did it
With skinny hands and heavy jeans
We finally know what it means
To lose it
The tapestry birthed from our loom
Was woven too tightly to move
Or change it
